Guided Gold River BC Steelhead Fishing

Profish Adventures offers professionally guided steelhead fishing trips on Vancouver Island's premier wild steelhead river. Year after year, Gold River boasts the largest returns of wild steelhead on Vancouver Island.

Gold River is world renowned for its breathtaking scenery and coastal mountain views—not to mention its legendary, hard-fighting wild steelhead. Our customers almost invariably comment that where we fish is one of the most spectacular places they have ever experienced. Our Winter Run Steelhead are typically larger than summer steelhead, averaging 8-15 pounds and can reach in excess of 20 pounds.

Our winter steelhead start entering the river in early January and continue their run through April. Our summer-run steelhead are slightly smaller and average 4 - 7 pounds, reaching in excess of 10 pounds. Summer-run fish enter the river by June and continue through September.

Gold River Steelhead are all wild, native steelhead. To protect this precious resource, the Gold River is a Catch-and-Release river system. Only single, barbless hooks are allowed. There is also a bait ban in effect, and no power-driven vessels are allowed on the Gold river.

Profish Adventures operates with only the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and safety. We are well equipped with boats and tackle designed for use in this environment. Our boats are 13 ft Hyside River rafts of hypalon construction with custom aluminum rowing frames. They can comfortably fish 2 guests with standing platforms, proper seating and leaning posts for safety and comfort.
